Evaluation

My magazine represents the female social group, who like to listen to r&b, hip hop type of music. This is done through the people i have used which is a female and then i have used and targeted at those types of groups or solo artists in the magazine.
The media product i have produced is for young teenagers form the age of 16 to around 24 years old. It is for the female audience as people said in the questionnaire and focus group that their isnt a magazine for them to read. I feel that i have produced this magazine for this audience. I have done this with again, the people i have used on my front cover to encourage people to read this magazine.
After asking people in my questionnaire and my focus group i feel that i have targeted this well for my audience. I started with the questionnaire then asked a few people for a focus group and combined all this information to make a magazine based around it.
The music magazines already being sold are mainly aimed for males, so i have taken this into account and made more of a female type magazine. I have done this by putting more female artists into the magazine such as Katy Perry, Sugababes etc. I have used a female model on the front with an interview with her.
The title i used for the magazine is called "Naive." I used this for two reasons, firstly it sums up a lot of the females between 16-24 as they all seem to be rather Naive, I also used it as its a song name from the Kooks.
Everyone is attracted to promotional offers, so in the contents page i included a promotional offer for people to subscribe to this magazine and save money.
After completing my preliminary task i feel that i have done well with this one as i have been able to use the techniques which i had in the task previously to complete this one.
I managed to use photoshop easier than i did before to be able to produce the front cover, double page and contents page. I feel that i have achieved it well and am now more confident in using photoshop.
I am now also able to use blogs, before i wasnt sure how to work blogs, or blogger but by doing this task i am more familiar with using it and now using it in other subjects too.
I am now confident in taking the pictures with the cameras we used. I can now use the zoom functions, sport functions and many more on the camera which i wouldnt know how to use before.
Whilst making this magazine i had to make a few changes with the pictures as they didn't at first fit in with the audience profile i was looking for as they were too young, and more like a 14 year old would read. So i re did the pictures with a more Q and NME type of picture in mind and was able to produce the front cover i have now.
